Leela

Leela is one of the three A.I. onboard the UESC Marathon when it set sail. She is useful to the player-character throughout most of the first Marathon, but she is defeated by the Pfhor at the end of the game, dismantled, and shipped to the Pfhor homeworld for study.

En route, the Pfhor ship transporting her was intercepted by a Nar privateer, and Leela was sold as junk to the Vylae. Her re-activation and subsequent rampancy became legendary, and the Vylae eventually came to accept that they would never expunge her from their fifteen-world network.^{[citation needed]}

Invasion of the Marathon

Leela introduces herself in the first terminal and immediately tells the player-character to head to a teleport. Even at this point in the attack on the Marathon, Leela has been severely damaged. During the rest of Marathon 1, Leela continues to defend the Marathon and employs the player-character in helping her.
