The dreams are a series of levels in Marathon Infinity and are a metaphorical transcription of the events of the player-character's life. ^{[citation needed]}Electric Sheep One provides the first terminal written in the typical white text found in the dream sequences and its only contents are cryptic, seemingly unrelated sentences, with one mentioning dreams. The first of the full dream levels is immediately after Electric Sheep One: Where are monsters in dreams. The dream sequences usually continue immediately after the Electric Sheep levels and are numbered, presumably to give the story a specific path through the dream.^{[citation needed]}

Synopsis

The story is told entirely from a first-person perspective and starts with the narrator discussing how he picked up a knife from a man dying in the street. The dreams then follow his journey as he runs from black-suited men.

Artwork

The terminals are usually accompanied by artwork that is stylistically different than in other levels.
