M1A1 conversion
Due to the different physics in M1A1, players can't use the flamethrower to reach high ledges (as they can in Low Gravity levels in the original game). To compensate for this, the M1A1 version of the level adds columns of Pfhor slime that the player can swim up (similar to the swimmable columns in the M1A1 Eupfhoria).
The swimmable columns make vidding the level somewhat easier, as the player can return to the recharger and pattern buffer at the beginning as many times as necessary.
Other notes
- The Marathon Scrapbook states that all but one of the Pfhor levels in Marathon were created by J. Reginald Dujour.[2] Evidence suggests that the non-Dujour level is Pfhor Your Eyes Only.[3]
- The first few S'pht the player encounters don't begin moving or firing unless an attack hits them, at which point they behave normally.
